love ride or die

Love Ride or Die | Short Poem No. 33

It’s all love ride or die.

Sometimes I’m here, but sometimes I’m not.

On this rollercoaster of love, we’re at the top.

What comes next, you know we’ll go down.

We’ll take a few turns, we’ll be upside down.

That’s where we’ll start to question, “Why are we here?”

Tell me do you question, “Why are we here?”

love ride or die

I heard you scream and yell,

no use trying to hide it.

I think I yelled too (can’t remember).

Time was flying by, January to December.

That’s when we started to question, “Why are we here?”

Tell me do you question, “Why are we here?”

This is why we’re here, so don’t have any fear.

This is why we’re here, I hope I make that clear (it’s love).

So hold on baby, it’s up and it’s down.

But I won’t let you go, even when we’re upside-down.

I won’t let you go.

I won’t let you go.

Life is a ride, it won’t finish until we’re dead.

But I promise that you’ll have me, even when we see red.

Every twist and turn, we’ll scream through this together.

I thought I told you, we’ll storm any weather.

So when we question, “Why are we here?”

This is why we’re here, I hope I made that clear (it’s love).

  1. I read this first thing this morning and it really touched me. I love how your word effortlessly speak about how relationships fall and rise again. Kudos!

    1. Thanks, Tamanna! That is just the reality of relationships. If you think of the “ride” as life in this poem, the problem is not in the relationship. It’s just the turns of life that pull the relationship up and down. The truth isn’t to say that real love should always be easy (because sometimes life just gets in the way), but that there needs to be a commitment to keep the love strong. Thanks Tamanna, hope you reopen a page sometime so we can see your poetry!

    2. You’re already here, Tamanna. Might as well give it a shot! I’ll even come follow it, myself.

    1. Thanks, Krishna! I haven’t been on your page lately. I think I’ll go now and see what you’ve been up to!
